Its been a while since Ive had an internet connection but a lot has been going on so heres an update. After being 5 senconds quicker over a run in a demo boat I decided the only way I am going to stand a chance of making the Team this year is to be racing in one. Living on a financial knife edge it really is going to be tough to find the finance for this new kayak but it has to be done. I have sold my Neutron and Logic to fund the deposit so im Half way there...

Along with this added financial complication I am now left with only a 4m kayak to train and race in untill my new one arrives.. A challenge to paddle but im suprisingly good in it... check it out..

With the winter breeze making yet another appearance it kinda set theme today. I didn't feel so great on the water this morning which showed in my performance in this mornings full runs session. Still recovering from an exhausting and hectic last few days with lots of travelling and running around after people. My pace wasn't on the money and I was struggling to hold the inside poles on the tricky moves course that that had been cleverly designed and proved quite testing as you will see in the video below. 

With feeling so tired this morning I am taking this afternoon off and also tomorrow morning so I can come fresh into my Home Clubs Annual Pool Slalom Competition which is to be held tomorrow evening.

Training has been very productively over the last few days with a more solid training plan in place. Today was my first scheduled race simulation session of 2011 with good performances over all three runs. Three clean runs at good pace. Here is a video of my Final Run.

Today I had my second Race Simulation session and again had good performance over the 3 runs. Preparation was key as the cold winter chill continues. I picked up a couple of penalties today with a more physical course and weather conditions becoming a distraction. Here is a clip of my Final Run.
